Smoking Online

Not getting enough nicotine? Here are other sites to check out!

Freedom 2 Choose – Updated often with news on laws, centering on England but certainly global. It’s a first stop, including widgets to plug into your page that count the number of pub closures and more. iTiki approved.

Smoking Lobby – The first online forum entirely for smokers. It has outlived many upstart forums and remains the centerpiece for electronic conversation amid smokers. Also, you’ll find the symbol that inspired the “Smoking Only” sign here on Burn as One.

Smoking Feels Good – Them’z my peeps, a site focusing entirely on the pleasure and benefits of smoking. Mad love for pleasure_admin!

Pro-Choice Smoking Doctor – One of my main subscriptions. The good doctors bring much needed wit and humor along with the now common-place sarcasm found in the many smokers who’ve been marginalized. I highly suggest subscribing to increase your daily dose from the pro-smoking movement.

FOREST – Are you a smoker who’s been met with discrimination, or feel you may have had your legal rights trounced? Hmmm… okay, so that’s all of us at this point. But still… FOREST is who you want to contact. There site isn’t anything fancy, but the contact link is right at the bottom.

Gallery of Famous Smokers – This site is right up the Burn as One alley. That didn’t come out right. Anyways, if you’re a smoker, these are the peeps we call our family. If they changed the world (or are changing it), they’re likely on there.

FORCES – Fight Ordinances and Restrictions to Control and Eliminate Smoking: FORCES is a great resource for news, links and multimedia–all pro-smoking. They are slowly becoming the premier source of information for the movement.

Tobacco Reporter – While it is extremely heavy on the advertisements, often detracting from the content itself, the site remains up-to-date with news from around the world on where tobacco and smokers are being attacked next.

Smokers Association – I am keeping an eye on this site, as it covers a lot of ground but is one of the newer sites… albeit promising.

Smokers With Attitude – In a way, this site’s not to be missed. It has a lot of unexpected treasures, such as the smoking tricks, the list of airports and their type of “Smoking Only” sections as well as a letter highlighting the digital attack on smokers online.

eZines: These online magazines for smokers make for required reading.

Out-of-Date: These sites have not been updated in a while, yet I’ve found some useful information while visiting each of them.

In Defense of Smokers by Lauren A Colby

Why Do We Smoke Cigarettes?, from “The Psychology of Everyday Living” by Ernest Dichter [1947]

Note: I’m a judgmental bastard. I offer no apologies for this, only the declaration. If my review of your site feels out-of-place, or if you would like the link removed or a link added, contact me. If anyone finds that one of these links are dead or simply inaccurate, send me a line. I’ll tidy up.
