Austin, TX - Where to Smoke Inside?

Are you a smoker who’s coming into Austin for South-by-South-West (SXSW) or Austin City Limits (ACL)… or some other event? Maybe you’re just coming into the city because Austin’s the bomb-diggity. If you’re a smoker, you’ll find some of the clubs let you get away with smoking inside. 6th Street is full of ‘em… not all of ‘em will let ya get away with it though. It is, in fact, illegal. Frakk a whole lotta that! This is The Live Music Capital of the World, and the only music that tobacco didn’t help launch was pop music. Outside of Sixth Street, there are still three cantinas where you can smoke indoors (we have the grandfather laws to thank for that). Do NOT miss the chance to try out any of these three oasis spots for smokers (in order of top favorite to least):

Trudy’s Burnet, 8820 Burnet Rd, 78757 ~ 512.454.1474

I can’t close this, however, without mentioning Epoch Coffee. Epoch is a 24-hour coffee house with free WiFi and outlets EVERYWHERE… and tons of outdoor seating where you can smoke. Here, you’ll find a veritable army of authentic Austinites (aka, “the weirds”). Be sure to pick up a copy of the local Austin Chronicle while you’re here… as well as a copy of The Onion. Here’s the info on Epoch:
